Benjamin Bruce
Principal Psychologist & Clinic Director
Ben Bruce is the Principal Psychologist and Director of the clinic. He has over 20 years of experience working in the field of psychology and mental health, fulfilling over 30,000 client-hours during this time. He is a board-approved Supervisor and is extremely proud of the team he has put together of specialist psychologists, allied health, reception and support staff at the BPS clinic.
Ben aims to help people who have experienced painful early life experiences. This includes situations of loss, neglect, abuse, deprivation and ongoing core feelings of hopelessness, shame, inadequacy and anger impacting their current capacity to relate to others and have meaningful relationships. He helps people to understand and overcome self-defeating life patterns and maladaptive coping mechanisms to become more truly individuated as the best versions of themselves.
Amber Howard
Clinical Psychologist
Amber is a highly skilled and experienced senior Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of experience working with others to support them to achieve their life goals. She provides treatment and support for children (5 and up), adolescence and adults with a vast array of mental health issues such as sleep difficulties, depression, anxiety, social anxiety, GAD, OCD, fears/phobias, trauma (PTSD/CPTSD) and substance misuse.
Amanda Willemyns
Senior Psychologist
With over 30 years of professional experience, Dr Amanda Willemyns is a Senior Psychologist specialising in forensic and injury compensation assessments, providing expert evaluations for legal and insurance matters.
Highly experienced in preparing detailed court reports, she delivers clear, evidence-based analyses to support fair and accurate outcomes in litigation and compensation cases.
Andrew Tan
Provisional Psychologist
Andrew is a fully registered Psychologist with a Masters Degree in Professional Psychology from Curtin University. He works with both children and adults with an eclectic, evidence-based approach centered on deliberate practice. Whilst he enjoys working with adults, he is also our resident Child Psychologist, providing both neurodevelopmental assessments and therapeutic interventions for kids with behavioural, emotional, adjustment and attachment issues. Monica Copko
Provisional Psychologist
Monica is a Provisional Psychologist who works with children (10+), adolescents, adults and couples. She offers compassionate, personalised and evidence-based care to clients experiencing a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, stress, grief, intimate betrayal, anger and relationship difficulties. Monica has experience with a range of approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Prior to joining Bruce Psychology Monica gained six years of counselling experience working within private practice and as a member of two well respected counselling group practices.
